摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the combustion which minimizes the fuel consumption deterioration and the increase in HC or the increase in smoke even when a cetane value of fuel to be used changes in increasing the exhaust gas temperature for the exhaust emission purification by an exhaust emission control system or in enriching air fuel ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A combustion control system of a diesel engine is provided with the exhaust emission control systems (16, 17), a variable fuel injection device (10), and the exhaust emission control system state detection means (30) for detecting whether the exhaust emission control systems (16, 17) are in a normal state, or in a state other than the normal state. When the exhaust emission control systems (16, 17) is in the state other than the normal state owing to the detection result of the exhaust emission control system state detection means (30), a fuel injection means (30) of the combustion control system of the diesel engine performs fuel injection of a plurality times formed of fuel injection near the compression top dead center and at least once fuel injection in an expansion stroke, and a combustion ratio control means (30) of the combustion control system of the diesel engine changes the ratio of premixed combustion and expansion combustion in the whole combustion occurring by the plurality of times in fuel injection depending on the operation state and the cetane value of the fuel to be used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p>
