PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a lithographic printing plate original plate which can perform an on-board developing without ink contamination, and of which the inking property is good, and to provide a good inspecting method for the plate, and an image quality managing method. SOLUTION: In this processing method for the lithographic printing plate original plate, after exposing the lithographic printing plate original plate having an image record which can be removed with a printing ink, dampening water or both of them along the image, the lithographic printing plate original plate is treated with a solution containing a basic pigment and an anion surfactant. The processing liquid for the method is also disclosed This plate inspecting method for the lithographic printing plate original plate using the processing method, an image quality managing method, and the solution containing the basic pigment and the anion surfactant being used for the process are provided.
