PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of determining the abnormality and confirming the presence of a battery-driven terminal after reducing power consumption thereof. SOLUTION: In the communication server SVA, key alive signal is transmitted to the battery-driven terminal T4A at a transmission interval corresponding to the remaining capacity of a battery, utilizing information about the residual capacity of the battery in a response signal to be returned from the terminal T4A, thereby confirming the presence. Also, the terminal T4A notifies the communication server SVA about the remaining capacity of the battery, utilizing an existing signal such as a response signal to the keep alive signal, and the transmission terminal of the keep alive signal to the terminal T4A is changed in the communication server SVA depending on the remaining capacity.
