PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit timely loss notification to a prescribed notification destination when a portable terminal is lost due to theft or leaving behind or the like. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 10 has a means for storing position information by acquiring it when set to a loss notification mode, a means for storing the position information while regularly acquiring it after the setting to the loss notification mode, a means for calculating a moving distance on the basis of the position information acquired whenever acquiring the position information and the position information acquired when set to the loss notification mode, and a means for transmitting current position information to a notification destination terminal 20 when the calculated moving distance exceeds a prescribed distance.
