PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required until video presentation on a television receiver in UP/DOWN channel selecting operation. SOLUTION: When an UP/DOWN channel selecting instruction is received in a step S1, video/audio output switching is performed in a step S2, and a tuner to be set is selected in step S3. When a first tuner is selected as the tuner to be set, frequency setting is performed on the first tuner, a TS signal is acquired, and MPEG DEMUX processing is performed. An ES signal is then acquired, MPEG DECODE processing is performed, video/audio output processing is performed, and operation is returned to the step S1. When a second tuner is selected in a step S3, frequency setting to the second tuner is performed, a TS signal is acquired, and MPEG DEMUX processing is performed.
