PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide base station equipment which can control communication rate depending on the actual communication content while suppressing increase in throughput. SOLUTION: The base station equipment 10 comprises a section 17 for acquiring information about the amount of communication data in communication performed by a mobile station device, a section 181 for judging whether the communication is voice communication or data communication depending on the information about the amount of communication data acquired at the amount of communication data information acquiring section 17, and a section 18 for controlling the communication rate of the communication based on the judgment results from the judging section 181.
