PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress optical aberration variations for an optical pickup device and an optical disk drive incorporating it. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device has a collimator lens to make the light output from the light source almost parallel, a focusing lens to focus the almost parallel light on an information medium, a drive to change the position of the focusing lens, and a heat conductive material provided for the collimator lens. The drive has a coil and a magnet to change the position of the focusing lens and at least part of the heat conductive material is provided on the collimator lens at the side of the coil.
