PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism detection method and a microorganism detection device capable of detecting and counting highly accurately, when labeled aqueous infective microorganisms such as cryptosporidium included in environmental water in rivers or lakes and marshes with a labeled antibody to which a fluorescent material is bonded, and detecting a detection object microorganism by measuring the fluorescence intensity of particles. SOLUTION: In this microorganism detection method for recognizing specifically the detection object microorganism, and detecting the detection object microorganism from the fluorescence intensity of the particles included in a sample by using an antigen-antibody reaction by the labeled antibody to which the fluorescent material is bonded, the front scattered light intensity of the particles, the fluorescent intensity by the labeled antibody and the fluorescent intensity characteristic to impurities are measured, and only the detection object microorganism is detected by removing particles showing false positive wherein the labeled antibody is non-specifically bonded to the impurities based on measured optical information, and the detection object microorganism is counted.
