PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove sediment in a settling tank of a water storage facility for rainwater etc., of which the water storage facility is provided with a water storage tank 10 arranged in the underground, synthetic resin framework blocks 14 arranged in the water storage tank to secure a space for storing the water, and the settling tank 30 formed in the water storage tank 10 by surrounding the framework blocks 14 near an inflow port 26 of the rain water etc. with partition walls 32. SOLUTION: A U-shaped channel 42 is formed under the water storage tank 10 to extend from an inside area of the settling tank 30 to the outside area of the settling tank 30. The section of the U-shaped channel 42 positioned in the inside area of the settling tank 30 is open to the inside of the settling tank 30. The section of the U-shaped channel 42 positioned in the outside area of the settling tank 30 is not open to inside of the water storage tank, but working holes 44A, 44B reaching the ground surface are formed at both ends of the U-shaped channel 42. The sediment 46 deposited in the U-shaped channel 42 in the inside area of the settling tank 30 is transferred to the working hole 44B by injecting a waterjet 50 from the working hole 44A to the other working hole 44B, so that the sediment is taken out to the ground surface and is removed.
