PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device for operating a lock capable of displaying the results of individualization in the same lock controller to associate with a specific user securely. SOLUTION: This portable device has a transmitting/receiving part 2 being a communication means with the lock controller registering an ID for authentication in advance, a code storage part 3 for storing individual distinguishing codes allotted by the lock controller when registering the ID for authentication into the lock controller and capable of distinguishing this portable device from the other portable device capable of authenticating for the same lock controller, and a display part for displaying distinction between individuals by an LED 4 based on the individual distinguishing codes when detecting vibration by a vibration sensor 5 or pressing down a locking and unlocking operation button 6.
