PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat lifter easy to work, low at cost and capable of preventing idling of a torsion bar. SOLUTION: This shift lifter is furnished with a lifter connecting pipe 7 supported on a pair of cushion frames free to rotate, an operating physical force transmission mechanism 20 to vary inclinations of link members 4, 4, 5, 5 in correspondence with a rotating angle of the lifter connecting pipe 7 and the torsion bar 8 inserted into the inside of the lifter connecting pipe 7, a head end side of which is engaged with a stopper wall part 7b formed on the lifter connecting pipe 7 and base end sides of which are respectively engaged with the cushion frames, first, second and third bent parts 8a, 8b, 8c are provided on the head end side of the torsion bar 8, the first and second bent parts 8a, 8b are engaged with the stopper wall part 7b and the third bent part 8c is made contact with an inner peripheral surface 7c on the head end side from the stopper wall part 7b.
