PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior filter capable of reducing occurrence of channeling or clogging, by mixing and agitating suspension. SOLUTION: Filter vessels 11, 12, 13 have structure wherein filtrate of suspension injected from inlets 11a, 12a, 13a is discharged from filter vessel side wall parts 11b, 12b, 13b, and suspension with particles substantially in a dispersed state is discharged from filter vessel discharge ports 11c, 12c, 13c. A first suspension storing part 14 storing suspension is provided between the filter vessel discharge port 11c of an upper stage group and the filter vessel inlet 12a of a middle stage group. A second suspension storing part 15 storing suspension is provided between the filter vessel discharge port 12c of the middle stage group and the filter vessel inlet 13a of a lower stage group.
