Method for the preparation of dry instant food comprising two or more components, comprising the following steps: - the individual components are prepared to a ready-to-eat meal by at least one per se known preparation process comprising adding water and heating as well as mixing of the components, - the resulting mixture is subjected to a drying process comprising: - freezing the mixture, :drying of the mixture to a moisture content less than 15% in at least one drying step with a temperature lower than 0 ⁰C, - packing of the dried product in a foil package. The invention also provides the product manufactured by said method.
