Determining functional state of actuator-operated gears, measures e.g. actuator currents, compares them between gears and adopts reversionary mode on detecting incipient failure

摘要

The action of leaving a gear, is compared between different gears. The energy required for this, is compared between different gears. Comparison is made using a statistical method. Functionalities of actuator and gears are differentiated. Results of the determination are presented to a gear controller. When making gear selections, the controller responds to results of the determination.
