<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make white smoke inconspicuous by generating an air current by using a switching operation of a branch guide for a paper discharge path. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the branch guide 20 for switching the discharging direction of a recording medium 3 with the fixed toner image in two or more directions. The switching operation of the branch guide 20 is performed at least once before the next recording medium 3 reaches a face-down discharge path r6 after the recording medium 3 conveyed on the face-down discharge path r6 passes through the branch guide 20 during a continuous image forming operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
