<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a registering device that can improve authentication accuracy, and to provide a verification apparatus, extraction method and program. <P>SOLUTION: A predetermined processing is applied to an image signal obtained by imaging a biometric object at a predetermined body region. A feature portion of the biometric object in the image signal is extracted, and the feature portion is subjected to Haugh transform. A parameter is extracted so that the parameter obtained by Haugh transform reaches a predetermined value while varying an extraction condition.
