PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus and transmission method with which uncomfortable feelings can be prevented from being given to a user at a receiving side by prohibiting use of transmission destination information containing a transmission destination of data if the transmission destination information is erroneously stored. SOLUTION: When transmission of image data is not completed, a control unit 4 performs retransmission processing to transmit the same image data to the same transmission destination again and counts the transmission count. If the transmission count is greater than a prescribed value, the control unit 4 reports a transmission error and determines whether a correction request of transmission destination information has been operated. If there is the correction request of the transmission destination information, the control unit 4 corrects the transmission destination information. If there is no correction request of the transmission destination information, the control unit 4 deletes the transmission destination information and reports the deletion of the transmission destination information.
