PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which informs a photographer of halation or black crushed parts in image data, and presents adjusting information required for solving the halation or black crush to prompt to take the adjusting operation for an adequate exposure. SOLUTION: A brightness decider 32 compares and decides the brightness of pixel data with a predetermined threshold. An emphasizing process 33 emphasizes the brightness of those data out of the threshold range to replace with the original pixel data. A light quantity calculation 41 obtains information for adjusting the brightness within the range. A display I/F 26 converts the replaced data and adjusting information in a data form suited for the screen of a display 27 which shows them superposed on taken pictures.
