PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus suitable for suppression of deterioration of a display video image due to a stray light, and a display apparatus having this. SOLUTION: The video signal processing apparatus to be used for the display apparatus having a generated stray light is provided with a stray light correcting section 11 for outputting a corrected video signal acquired by decreasing a signal component corresponding to a stray light component to be displayed on a display screen from an input video signal, as a video signal to be supplied to the display screen. Mean values Ra, Ga, Ba of R, G, B signal values of each pixel on the full display screen are calculated.
