PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature sensor for a boiling water reactor of a natural circulation type which enables the replacement, when a thermometer placed in a pressure vessel becomes broken, and periodical replacements easily. SOLUTION: A chimney shaped like a lattice is located inside a reactor pressure vessel, and a thermocouple leading tube into which a thermocouple for detecting temperature and a cable connected to the thermocouple are inserted is mounted on the upper end part of the chimney. Such mounting of the thermocouple leading tube on the upper end part of the chimney shaped like a lattice keeps the thermocouple leading tube out of the way even during the replacement of fuel assemblies. Moreover, the installation of the thermocouple leading tube in the upper part of the chimney enables the replacement of the tube easily even when a thermocouple becomes broken.
