FLUORESCENT PIGMENT FOR LABELLING PEPTIDES AND PROTEINS, AND LABELLING METHOD USING THE FLUORESCENT PIGMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent pigment which is easy to make labelling operations and allows a rapid and reversible labelling and a labelling method of wide application and a labelling method using the pigment.

SOLUTION: To provide a fluorescent pigment in which a ligand forming a metal complex and exhibiting a specific bonding ability to a metal-coordinating peptide and a fluorescent group are bonded through a linker. The fluorescent group has a coordinating ability to the central metal in the metal complex the ligand forms. Fluorescence extincts, as the fluorescent group coordinates with the metal. Addition of the metal-coordinating peptide breaks the coordination of the fluorescent group with the metal and fluorescence increases (recovers).
