PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate several subchannels in combination on a display of a television receiver which can receive digital broadcast programs. SOLUTION: Image information is assigned to one subchannel and at least one of the linguistic information by subtitles, the speech language information or the sign language information is individually assigned to other subchannels of one main channel. When one or several subchannels to be simultaneously indicated are selected from several subchannels included in one main channel by a remote-control transmitter 41, a microcomputer 21 on the TV side allows the display 26 to indicate at least one of the selected linguistic information by subtitles, the speech language information or the sign language information by superimposing it on the image information.
