PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion matrix generating device that generates a color conversion matrix for converting image data disposed outside a color reproduction region to a proper color conversion value. SOLUTION: The color conversion matrix generating device generates the color conversion matrix for color-converting the input image to a color that a display device which displays an image can display. When the color corresponding to the input image data is disposed outside the color reproduction region, a color conversion matrix generating means selects a plurality of color conversion matrixes to be used for the image data. Then the color conversion matrix generating means generates a color conversion matrix by combining the plurality of selected color conversion matrixes. The color conversion matrix generating device can suitably adjust a color conversion matrix causing a defect such as change in hue and deterioration in gray scale. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
