PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize paperless facsimile communication by using a detachable nonvolatile memory even if it is not connected to a network. SOLUTION: A facsimile device comprises a scanner 3 for capturing a manuscript image, a FAX transmitter and receiver 1 for transmitting the manuscript image captured by the scanner 3 via facsimile and for receiving the manuscript image sent from outside via facsimile, a printer 2 for printing and outputting the manuscript image received by the FAX transmitter and receiver 1 via facsimile, and a system controller 10 for controlling each part. When a detachable storage 5 is mounted, data of the manuscript image received by the FAX transmitter and receiver 1 via facsimile is automatically stored in the detachable storage 5, and when the detachable storage 5 is mounted, the manuscript image received by the FAX transmitter and receiver 1 via facsimile is automatically printed and outputted by the printer 2.
