PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain good mounting operability even when increasing the length of a muffling apparatus by increasing the degree of versatility of the size of the muffling apparatus. SOLUTION: In the muffling apparatus capable of mitigating and absorbing the noise generated by the oscillation of a fuel in a fuel tank while the muffling apparatus is inserted in and mounted on the tank via an opening part E formed in the fuel tank, the muffling apparatus 1 has a three-dimensional shape having a width portion X narrower than the opening width of the opening part E and a longitudinal portion Y longer than the opening width of the opening part E; and the longitudinal portion Y consists of a plurality of muffling units 2A, 2B connected to each other in the middle of the longitudinal direction via a connection part 3.
