PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine, usable for the internal combustion engine having an oil-cleaner such as a centrifugal cleaner, having excellent hydrolysis stability, and capable of maintaining the initial properties (e.g. high-temperature cleaning performance and abrasion-resistant properties). SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for the internal combustion engine, usable for the internal combustion engine having an oil-cleaner contains (A) a metal salt of a phosphorus-containing acid free from sulfur and (B) a metallic detergent in a lubricating base oil, and has 5.6-21.3 mm<SP>2</SP>/s dynamic viscosity at 100°C, and 3-100 mg-KOH/g base number.
