PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent battery exhaustion caused by long time parking by setting a battery monitoring cycle during an engine stop according to a battery state before stopping an engine. SOLUTION: The battery monitor device detects the battery state immediately before stopping the engine when monitoring the battery state during the engine stop of a vehicle, and computes the battery monitoring cycle after stopping the engine according to the battery state immediately before stopping the engine, and detects the battery state in the computed battery monitoring cycle, and maintains or resets the battery monitoring cycle immediately to the battery state, or outputs an alarm for requesting the charging of the battery.
