PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ballpoint pen imparting stringiness and shearing reduction viscosity to ink, having little adhesion of ink and drop of ink to outer surface of a ball holder and having nonconventional light and smooth condition of pen. SOLUTION: The oil-based ink for ballpoint pen comprises at least a coloring agent, benzyl monoglycol and/or benzyl polyglycol and one or more kinds of mixtures selected from cellulose derivative and/or mucopolysaccharides.
