PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device in which a file system can be updated even when a file system after update is not stored before the top of stream data, when the file system is updated by add-on recording. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is constituted so that capacity of a file structure after update is obtained when the file structure is updated by add-on recording, capacity from the top of partition to the top of stream data is compared with capacity of the obtained file structure after update, when capacity of the obtained file structure after update is smaller, the file structure after update is overwritten on a file structure before update, when the capacity of the obtained file structure after update is larger, the file structure after update is made after stream data.
