PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor that can optimize the surface shape of an electrophotographic photoreceptor for cleaning property improvement purposes. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises bringing the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, comprising at least a charge transport layer provided on a cylindrical support, into pressure contact with a mold having fine surface irregularities to transfer the fine surface irregularities onto the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. The temperatures of the mold and the support are controlled so as to satisfy a requirement of T3<T1<T2 wherein T1 represents the glass transition temperature of the charge transport layer,°C; T2 represents the temperature of the mold,°C; and T3 represents the temperature of the support,°C.
