PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of static electricity by making a conductive material constitute a rubbing cloth, and at the same time to additionally prevent the occurrence of fine dust/foreign matters caused by chafing and shaving of the conductive material constituting the rubbing cloth. SOLUTION: The rubbing cloth for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel is composed of woven fabric, and is characterized by containing composite fiber of a sheath/core structure composed of a core comprising the conductive material and a non-conductive material to coat the core, wherein the conductive material is substantially not exposed on the rubbing surface.
