PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit capable of efficiently and shortly discharging foreign matter entering into a bearing to the outside of the bearing while preventing a seal member on the body side of a rotating ring from being directly exposed to external foreign matter. SOLUTION: The bearing unit comprises an outer ring 2 to be fixed to the body side, an inner ring 4 to be rotated together with a wheel in opposition to the inside of the outer ring 2, and rolling elements 6, 8 incorporated between the outer ring and the inner ring. It has a seal 10a arranged on the body side of the outer ring for sealing the inside of the bearing unit between the outer ring and the inner ring, and an annular slinger 17 arranged on the body side beyond the seal and internally fitted to the outer ring 2. The slinger is internally fitted at its base end to the outer ring and continuously formed along the inner peripheral face of the outer ring with its front end extending to the inner ring side to cover the seal. At the base end of the slinger near the inner peripheral face of the outer ring, a plurality of hole portions 17c formed passing through the slider are provided at predetermined intervals along the circumferential direction.
