PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip device for an endoscope with which an operator can clearly obtain a boundary between a reversible operation area where clipping operation can be recommenced and an irreversible operation area where the clipping operation can not be recommenced in the middle of the clipping operation, thereby performing an appropriate clipping operation. SOLUTION: A clip 1 includes steps A, which a clip fastening ring 2 is to be got over when the clip fastening ring 2 is moved from the reversible operation area 1d to the irreversible operation area 1e, at a boundary position between the reversible operation area 1d where the clip fastening ring 2 is pushed to progress to the middle position of a movement range by a sheath 3 so as to subsequently save the sheath 3 to the rear side of the clip 1 and is saved to the rear side together with the sheath 3 so as to recover the opening state of the clip 1, and the irreversible operation area 1e where the clip fastening ring 2 is pushed to progress to the middle position of the movement range by the sheath 3 so as to prevent the clip fastening ring 2 from being saved to the rear side even when the sheath 3 is saved to the rear side.
