The valve has a swivel armature (25) formed in an L-shaped manner, where the swivel armature encloses an electromagnetic device (23) in such a manner that a control shank of the swivel armature projects alongside a lateral region (47) that lies adjacent to the electromagnetic device. A valve opening to be controlled is provided in the lateral region. The valve opening is oriented at right angles to a longitudinal axis (24) of the electromagnetic device, where the longitudinal axis runs perpendicular to a pole face arrangement (44).
