<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new oxime compound which excels in preservation stability at the time of conservation without generating polymerization by the addition to a polymerizable composition, and which generates an active radical and efficiently starts polymerization by energy beams especially by the irradiation of light so that this polymerizable compound may carry out polymerization efficiently in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The oxime compound is characterized by being represented by general formula (1). In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>represents any one of a hydrogen atom, an acyl group which may have a substituent, an alkoxycarbonyl group, and an aryloxycarbonyl groups; R<SP>2</SP>represents independently, respectively any one of a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, and amino groups. m represents an integer of 0-4, wherein when m is 2 or more, it may connect mutually and a ring may be formed.
