PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a customer of a procedure of self-checkout in advance before performing self-checkout. SOLUTION: This self-checkout terminal is provided with a sensor 103 for detecting that a customer is located at a position where each section installed in a settlement terminal 201 can be operated, and when the customer is not detected by the sensor 103, an overall guidance screen showing the outline of procedures from the start to end of self-checkout is displayed at a display part 210, and when the customer is detected by the sensor 103, the whole guidance screen is erased, and a basic screen showing various guidance corresponding to each of the procedures of the self-checkout is displayed, so that the guidance can be shifted according to the execution of the processing of merchandise sales data.
