PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver's mentality assessment device for accurately assessing a driver's metal state. SOLUTION: The driver's mentality assessment device for assessing a driver's mental state comprises a lane change prediction means 5 which predicts a lane change of the other vehicle traveling in an adjacent lane to the own lane; driver's action detection means 2, 3, 4, and 5 which detect, when lane change of the other vehicle to the own lane is predicted by the lane change prediction means 5, a driver action performed by the driver of the own vehicle; a storage means 5 storing a standard driver action in lane change of the other vehicle to the own lane; and a driver's mentality assessment means 5 assessing the driver's mental state based on a difference between the driver action detected by the driver action detection means 2, 3, 4, and 5 and the standard driver action stored in the storage means 5.
