PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constrain one-sided power variation, by reducing the deviations of surface temperature in the scanning direction of fθlens, in an image forming apparatus that uses a rotary polygon mirror. SOLUTION: Between the rotary polygon mirror and a resin-made fθlens, a mean is provided which guides or restricts the air flow produced by the rotation of the rotating polygon mirror motor and blown against the fθlens so that the air flow quantity blown in the scanning direction of the fθlens is increased. The guide or the restriction means is provided in the neighborhood of the fθlens, and is provided to either a scanner case or a covering means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
