PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine stop control device of a remote control type work machine, for performing engine stop control when waiting for work, by using nonoperational state monitoring information (an automatic power-off signal) of the automatic power-off function arranged in a transmitter, in the remote control type work machine. SOLUTION: The engine stop control device can remotely control the work machine 2 driven by an engine 4 by an operation signal output by the remote control transmitter 14 having the automatic power-off function 22 put in an electric power saving mode by turning off a power source, when operation of a worker is not performed for a predetermined time or more. The transmitted 14 is also provided with an engine stopping signal output means 25 for outputting operation information of the automatic power-off function 22 to the work machine 2 side as an engine stopping signal. The work machine 2 is provided with an engine stop control means 28 for controlling stopping of the engine by receiving the engine stopping signal output by the transmitter 14.
