PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate power supply device of a semiconductor element in which the gate power supply to the semiconductor element can be ensured even if a sound gate power supply cannot be obtained by a self-supply circuit of gate power supply. SOLUTION: A self-supply circuit of gate power supply 12a, 12b, 12c divides the voltage of a semiconductor element at off time to store charges in a capacitor Ca, Cb, Cc and supplies a gate voltage to a gate drive circuit 13a, 13b, 13c of the semiconductor element. On the other hand, when the voltage of the semiconductor element at off time drops and charges for sustaining the gate voltage of the capacitor Ca, Cb in the self-supply circuit of gate power supply 12a, 12b cannot be stored, a backup power supply circuit 14 supplies charges to the capacitor Ca, Cb from other self-supply circuit of gate power supply.
