PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet-embedded rotating electric machine for preventing a torque from being reduced, and suppressing a torque pulsation. SOLUTION: A protrusion 20 connects adjacent circumferences 19A, 19B, and formed with an arcuate curve H1 (an arcuate circumferential plane) having a radius larger than the radius R of the circumferences 19A, 19B. The protrusion 20 radially protrudes toward the outside of a rotor 15 in a region between a plane H and a circumferential plane E including the circumferences 19A, 19B other than the circumferential plane E and the plane H. Dhr=Dh×25.5/R is satisfied and p is the number of poles. Accordingly, an angular width A and a depth Dh are set within a range expressed by formula: (5.6×Dhr+11.3)°×6/p≤A<35°×6/p and formula: A<[360/p-2×acos(1-Dhr/25.5)]°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
