PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe easily many natural radiation tracks, while keeping a temperature differenceΔT between the upper and lower surfaces of an observation vessel at the optimum value by an electronic cooling element for cooling the inside of the observation vessel, and also to reduce a weight and size of the observation vessel. SOLUTION: In the cloud chamber for observing tracks of charged particles, a supersaturated layer of ethanol vapor by an ethanol vapor generation means 10 is formed in the observation vessel 2 having the electronic cooling element 31 arranged on the bottom part, and the area of the bottom part of the observation vessel 2 is set to 2.2 times or less of a cooling area of the electronic cooling element 31. The electronic cooling element 31 is one unit element by cascade connection, and its cooling capacity is about -40°C. The inside of the observation vessel 2 is irradiated by an illumination means 20 of an LED, and the bottom and the periphery of the observation vessel 2 are covered with a heat insulating material 5. Remaining ions (cores of mist generated by charged particles of natural radiations or the like) inside the observation vessel 2 are removed by a direct-current high voltage applied between a heater 26 provided in an observation window plate 25 comprising double-layer type film glass for blocking the upper part of an observation box 1, and a bottom plate 3.
