PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic floating unit so structured that the leakage of compressed air is reduced and reduced in working and assembling costs and a method of manufacturing the pneumatic floating unit. SOLUTION: An extruded material 11 such as aluminum with a hollow part 2 is cut to a desired length L in the direction vertical to the extruded direction X to mold a hollow plate material 12. The cutting surfaces of the hollow plate material 12 are closed by air leakage covers 3, 4 to form it in a box-like structure.
