PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and accurately predict, by an easy method, the existence of a wrinkle on a material to be formed. SOLUTION: Bending stressσ, which is applied to a plate material 3 and distributed in a thickness direction on its cross section in the same direction, is calculated; the bending stressσcalculated is integrated from its surface to its rear surface along the thickness direction thereof; and a radius of curvatureρof the wrinkle, which is generated on the plate material 3 after the removal of a load in accordance with the integrated bending stress and an elastic modulus E and a plate thickness (t) of the plate material 3, is estimated. When the absolute value of the radius of curvatureρestimated is a specified value (e.g. 1,000 mm) or less, occurrence of the wrinkle is predicted.
