PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a limited linear guide unit using a pair of holder members reliably holding a pinion of a misalignment preventing mechanism with high accuracy and fixing it to a cage to prevent the misalignment of the cage. SOLUTION: The misalignment preventing mechanism 20 consists of a holder 10 mounted on the cage 3, racks 5, 6 provided on wall faces 17, 18 of raceway bases 1, 2 and a tooth portion 41 engaging with the racks 5, 6. It also has the pinion 4 rotatably mounted on the holder 10. The holder 10 consists of the holder member 11 located on one side face 42 of the cage 3 in a region of a mounting hole 30, and the holder member 12 located on the other side face 42. The holder 10 is fixed to the cage 3 with sleeve portions 38 of the holder members 11, 12 while clamping an edge face 29 of a holding plate 9 in the mounting hole 30 at both ends.
