PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency by connecting a follower engagedly to a core material of required length, and easily releasing the engagement. SOLUTION: This insertion tool 1 of the core material for a continuous wall is provided at a lower part of the follower 3 for inserting the core material of an underground continuous wall into soil cement in an excavated hole. The insertion tool 1 comprises an engaging member 4 engaged with a head part of the core material 2 to hold it so as not to fall when suspended, a holding member 5 holding the engaging member 4 at the lower part of the follower 3, and an engagement release device 6 performing release action of the engaging member by wire operation from the ground to release engagement with the head part of the core material.
