The application relates to a dialysis appliance with a measuring unit which is assigned to the dialysis appliance and which records the blood pressure, with a measuring means which is assigned to the dialysis appliance and which records a pulse wave propagation time, and with an evaluation unit which is configured such that a signal representing the blood pressure can be derived from this pulse wave propagation time, wherein the parameters of the relationship between the pulse wave propagation time and the blood pressure can be determined from several measured values from the measuring unit for recording the blood pressure and from synchronous measured values from the measuring means for recording the pulse wave propagation time, wherein at least two of these pairs of measured values can be determined at times at which the absolute and/or relative deviation of the pulse wave propagation time and/or of the blood pressure lies above a threshold value. The application also relates to a method for determining the parameters of the relationship between a pulse wave propagation time signal and a blood pressure measurement signal.
