RESIN COMPOSITION FOR FUEL CELL ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE AND ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a fuel cell electrolyte membrane which has a high proton conductivity and can produce an electrolyte membrane having low permeability of fuel methanol in case of a direct methanol type fuel cell, and provide an electrolyte membrane.

SOLUTION: The resin composition for the fuel cell electrolyte membrane contains (1) an alkoxysilane or its hydrolyzed material and (2) a perfluoropolyether on both molecular chain ends of which an alkoxysilane group is combined. The electrolyte membrane having characteristics like high proton conductivity and low methanol permeability can be obtained with the above resin composition.
