PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device that achieves high-contrast display and high efficiency for light utilization.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 120R (the electro-optic device) having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix pattern includes: a counter substrate 200A (a converging substrate) formed of an incident side dust preventing glass (a transparent substrate) 200 having a plurality of groove-shaped prism elements 211 formed in an array pattern and arranged along boundary areas of the pixels. The prism elements 211 each includes a plurality of beveled portions 211a and 211b arranged on side walls thereof in the direction of the thickness of the counter substrate 200A, and the inclination angle of the beveled portions 211b arranged on an opening end side of each of the prism elements 211 with respect to the normal line of the converging substrate is smaller than the inclination angle of the other beveled portions 211a.
