<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent orange or red phosphor exhibiting light emission of higher luminance than that of conventional nitride or oxynitride phosphors and slightly deteriorating the luminance when exposed to an excitation source. <P>SOLUTION: The phosphor comprises a crystal phase having a chemical composition represented by general formula [1] (1-a-b)(Ln'<SB>p</SB>M<SP>II'</SP><SB>1-p</SB>M<SP>III'</SP>M<SP>IV'</SP>N<SB>3</SB>)-a(M<SP>IV'</SP><SB>(3n+2)/4</SB>N<SB>n</SB>O)-b(AM<SP>IV'</SP><SB>2</SB>N<SB>3</SB>) [1] (wherein, Ln' is a metal element selected from lanthanoids, Mn and Ti; M<SP>II'</SP>is a di-valent metal element other than the Ln' element; M<SP>III'</SP>is a tri-valent metal element; M<SP>IV'</SP>is a tetra-valent metal element; A is a metal element selected from Li, Na and K; 0<p≤0.2; 0≤a; 0≤b; a+b>0; 0≤n: and 0.002≤(3n+2)a/4≤0.9). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
